For the past 40 years, companies have been moving their production to China because of cheap labor. Today, the country has become rich. The middle class in the country makes up 40% of the population.
For Americans, the best contender for providing cheap, but at the same time literate labor is Mexico. Here, 42% of the population lives below the poverty line. This is more than 54 million Mexicans.
Of course, there are many poor countries with huge populations in the world. However, none of them has such an advantageous geographical location. Mexico is located next to the United States, it is easier to control trade routes and take into account the specifics of the region.
International companies are moving their production here. This is already bearing fruit: experts include Mexico in the list of “newly industrialized countries” – a group of countries that have made a sharp economic leap in recent decades. According to forecasts, by 2050, the Mexican economy will become the seventh in the world.
The most interesting thing is that the Chinese themselves are investing heavily in Mexico. In this way, they bypass the customs restrictions imposed by the Americans. We are talking about an industrial park in Nuevo Leon, in which tens of billions of dollars are being invested.
